Picnic to Matheran

After long time I am writing a personal post in net2dba blog.I went to picnic to matheran, a hill station near Mumbai with my office mates on 8th march 2008.

Matheran a hill station located about 100 km from Mumbai. The unpolluted air, beautiful surroundings, charming shady walks and magnificent panoramic views are what make a stay in Matheran a totally different experience in itself

We took local train from Dadar station till Neral and then cab till Matheran. We stayed there in small hotel called Hunjer House. On day one we had lunch at Khan’s spice garden. Few more team mates joined us by 5.00 pm.

After relaxing for a few hours we went to paymaster’s park at around 8.00 pm and enjoyed the surroundings and had a cracking time. After dinner, we had a sort of party with cocktails and played Antakshari and sang songs till 2.30 am in the night.

Next day (Sunday) we got up early and went to the Sunrise point. It was so exotic to see the rising Sun which gave us immense hope and a refreshing energy for the day ahead. After coming back to Hotel we had our breakfast then embarked again to explore more tourist points. On our exploration trail we covered the Echo Point, Charlotte Lake, Rambaugh Point and One Tree Hill. We also had an opportunity to do repelling (valley crossing on rope) near Charlotte Lake. It was scary as it was first experience for most of us, but it was also the most enjoyable moment of the tour. We had a late lunch at Gujarati Prassana hotel and finished our tour and packed our bags to return back. We all hired horses on our return journey to Matheran taxi point and thereafter took the local train to our destinations.

This was in all a great and unforgettable experience for all of us. It not only gave a break from the hectic schedule but also gave an opportunity to many of us in different units within the team to know each other and bond together

Please find the below link for all the snaps which we took during picnic (matheran) last weekend with our office mates
